Thanks for the comments. The concern is that it may have been malware but the critical indicator is the task bar background change from black to light grey. Is this a feature of any windows 10 upgrades or maybe it’s a feature of known malware? If anyone can help with that question it would help...

Thanks. I'd like to investigate a little further though before giving up. The crucial indicator is the replacement of the black task bar background with a light grey one. Is this associated with a recent upgrade of Windows 10? It seems a strange thing for mailicious software to do.

Thanks. That's interesting. Does "remove the account" mean get rid of the bug or remove the back up programme? And are you able to tell what kind of bug it is from that information and is it likely to be affecting anything else? Thanks
