Windows 7 Windows 7 folder naming problem

Hi! Just wondering if this problem has been encountered by anyone else? Sometimes when I create a new folder on the Desktop, and try to give it a name, I get some error message saying that something hasn't been implemented. For example, I wanted to create a folder called GTILL_Touch, but I got...

Windows 7 Classic vs. New Start Menu

Hi, apologies for not replying for a while, I've been really busy with college etc... I no longer have the time to develop CSMenu, due to focusing on college work and applying to University. Because of this, another developer has taken over the development of CSMenu, and I no longer control...

Argument from analogy is another common weak form of argument. It is reasoning based on perceived similarities between two or more things. It argues that a perceived similarity in one aspect will result in similarities in other aspects.

    $39.99 isn't bad. £30 = US$49.34 (today at least)!!

Windows 7 Help needed to active upgrade to windows 7

Try this, by the sounds of things you have nothing more to lose! Boot up Windows 7 to the desktop, put in your Windows 7 upgrade disc, and tell it to upgrade. I know you'll be upgrading Windows 7 to Windows 7, but try it anyway. It worked for me with the student discount version! Thomas.

    Windows 7 Activation Error 0xC004F061

Never mind, solved it now. For future reference here is what I did (from the beginning): Downloaded Windows 7 Pro 64bit Student onto Windows XP Pro 32bit Unpackaged the download with the downloaded program Received an error telling me some rubbish about the installer not being able to run...

    Windows 7 Activation Error 0xC004F061

Hi, I paid £30 for the Windows 7 Professional Upgrade as I'm a student. Yesterday I bought a new 500GB HDD and some more RAM to use for Windows 7. I downloaded the files from the link provided in the e-mail I got, and extracted. I was then given a strange error message, which upon Googling...

Windows 7 Classic vs. New Start Menu

Good suggestion, I've actually managed to try it on Build 7600 now, and it appeared to be working fine. I've updated the first post accordingly!

Are you sure? I had to choose 32 or 64 bit (I went for 64).

Windows 7 Classic vs. New Start Menu

Hi, There is no reason why it shouldn't work on build 7600, but I'm not a TechNet subscriber, so have no means of testing. However, use it at your own risk. CSMenu doesn't modify the registry or any system files, it contains itself in the installation folder (and also puts a link in the startup...

Windows 7 Classic vs. New Start Menu

Hi, Thanks for the feedback, but I'm having a bit of trouble replicating the problem (see attached screenshot). I would be very grateful if you could post a screenshot of the problem (maybe one with the larger taskbar, and one with the smaller taskbar). If I had the time to add context menus I...

    Windows 7 Student offer confusion!

Thanks to both of you! I know I can go ahead and get a copy of Windows 7 now, and hopefully I'll get the full version (I'm going for Professional over Home Premium as they're the same price!). Thomas.

    Windows 7 Student offer confusion!

Hi, Here in the UK I can pre-order Windows 7 Home Premium or Professional for £30 (inc VAT and delivery). I can also pay £9 for a disc as opposed to a digital download. I want to do this, but the disc is an upgrade disc, so I'm wondering what you'll need to perform a clean install. I...
