\\machinename, no joy \\ipaddress, success! I can access all machines using this. Nope, no netbios name displayed.... I did the netbios flush earlier. No names in cache. Appreciate the help...

Having trouble with one computer on my network. I have 4 computers in the network, 2 desktops, and 2 laptops. 3 are running Win7 Home Premium, 1 is running XP sp3. 3 of the computers have no trouble accessing the other machines. (one of these is the XP machine). But my desktop machine (Win7)...

So far I've been unsuccessful with Belkin, Encore, and Linksys routers. And also no joy with my latest toy............a Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 / DD-WRT

HomeGroup doesn't work for me either. 3 computers claim to be on it, but they're never 'available'. The trouble shooter always tells me the modem has no connection to the internet, which is false. But what would the modem have to do with the HomeGroup anyway?

In the Customize Start Menu dialog, the "Number of recent items to display in Jump Lists:" is grayed out. (see attached image) How do I enable this? I'm sure it's something I caused, but I can't figured out what I've done. :confused: Thanks

Never used Vista, but I was aware of UAC. When I installed Win7, I had turned UAC down within the first hour, and completely off soon after. It's very annoying!

There will always be some websites that aren't going to work with Opera. Opera doesn't use ActiveX, which makes it a safer browser, but also means you'll need an alternative at times.

I'm using the Opera 10.00 alpha ............. living on the bleeding edge. No problems yet.

Finally..... a Windows taskbar I'll use. I haven't used the Windows taskbar in a decade. I've always dislliked it and replaced it with programs like WinStep, HoverDesk, and ObjectDock. This one's a keeper.
