All of a sudden, my computer does not detect my daughters Sims game, which was installed and played often months ago. The message says to please insert the cd and start the application again. Why doesn't it detect it anymore? The computer (compaq) is less than a year old, and other games...

Just purchased new computer with vista already installed. The only problem I'm having is that the sound is much lower. We are using the same speakers-nothing fancy-just 2 speakers that came with our previous Compaq. I have checked everything-everything is up to '100' or at the max. Any advice?
