The backup disc is on a partition on the hard drive and the answer to question 2 is no. Call the company anf make your life mush easier.

I just recieved an undate via windows for IE9. Hopes that this fixws some of the crashes. PS. After restart IE 9 works a whole lot better. still the video issues but pages load a whole lot faster and more stable

Is the connection broaddband or dsl, remember that broadband is a shared bandwidth.

I had the same issue and the problem for me was that i had just changed the mouse and left the software from the old mouse. After i deleted the old softwware that did the trick.

Being that the computer is only 6 months old, you have 2 options call Acer and ask for tach support (it should be still under warranty) or there is an image partitioned on the disc and you can use that to reinstall windows. Remember to back up all data before restore.
