    Ok, I know it's only been 15 minutes and not one day lol but I've removed the sound system and even rebooted the computer. I'm connected through the wifi card and it's sort of working, it's slow as hell and every now and then dies so the problem isn't the sound system... It definitely starts...

    I can't run off Ethernet because I'm not near the router. I'll unplug the sound system and see if there's an improvement, I'll come back in a day or two to let you know how it goes. Thanks!

    It's a D-Link DWA-547 here's a link to the Microsoft website saying it's compatible with Windows 7. I don't think it's the card though as the old one (TrendNet PEW-423Pi) had the exact same problems.
