My downloads file is growing. Any rules on deleting everything in the file? Does deleting a download also delete the program once it is installed?

Any idea why my Microsoft Wireless mouse scrolls properly in email program and other general sites such as search results in Google but not in apps such as Adobe Bridge? I've checked settings and have not found anything relevant.

I have no quarrel with security updates, but I do not need more apps -- particularly those in this unsolicited "update" -- and resent having them foisted on me without my being able to decline. Just want to do my work with speed and no interference.
