Yep , I have done all that - ipconfig /all , this will bring up the machine IP - 169.x.x.x - ipconfig /release - ipconfig /renew this won't pick up any IP from the wifi router at all as the machine could not connect to wifi so there is no way it could get the IP from DHCP.
