Every time I boot my computer, it come up loading files, the open the boot recovery mode. If I leave it, it says that it fix one error, then it restarts and does the same again. The error was that it the boot.ini was missing. So I booted it up with ubuntu, and created an empty boot.ini file...

I've fixed it. In the control panel>turn windows features on or off, it was disabled. Don't ask me why...

When I right click on the desktop, the button for the gadgets has gone! Followed by all my gadgets. Any ideas? Thanks

Sorry, what I meant was 1:39 was before the windows animated boot appears. After that everything goes pretty smoothly. Thanks Edit: Defrag is 3%

Sorry to take so long in replying. What I meant in the post above was that when I installed the new OS, I deleted ALL partitions on the hard drive. I then created one partition on the hard drive and installed W7 on that. Thanks

With them all disabled (apart from hard drive) it takes 1m 39s until animation (I timed it). Thanks

I did have a dual boot once but I deleted all the partitions before installing windows. Thanks

Hi Alberto, thanks for replying. The primary disk is the notebook hard drive followed by the USB ports then the CD Reader and lastly the network adaptor. Thanks

Different to most peoples boot up problems, mine problem is that it takes about two minutes to show the boot up animation after the HP logo. All it shows is a black screen with a little flashing white line for about two minutes. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I finally solved this! In Internet Explorer - Internet Options - Connections - LAN Settings - The use a proxy server box was checked but with no address or port specified. I unchecked it and everything worked :D

When i try to browse the internet, I type the address in the address box and it tries to load the come up with redirecting, please click here to not redirected for about half a second, then navigation cancels! Please help me with this! It is driving me crazy! :frown: Thanks
