This worked for me too. One pointer for anyone who's going to try this: when you update the drivers (a) expect it to take A Very Long Time ("a few minutes" my foot). Also (b) when it does there are three different categories to check "Hewlett Packard", "Hewlett-Packard" and "HP" - the Deskjet...
