    'Dirty' SD Card

Thanks ! I'll try that, but I think that's the solution which bricked the last card I tried it with. So I'll back up the contents of the card to an HDD before trying that trick. I'll report back. Thanks again -- Cheemag

    'Dirty' SD Card

Hello, Windows 7 refuses to let me save/delete etc files on my Android tablet's SD card, claiming the file system is 'dirty'. The last time this happened I followed the prompts to correct it and ended up with a bricked SD card which was unuseable/unformatable and had to be discarded...

    Weird!

Thanks both. I'll save the desktop. The author of 'Save Desktop' has not responded to an Email. Even though the keyboard is as old as I am , its Alt key isn't sticking as I use it all the time as an escape key for Autohotkeys and it always functions normally. Sticky keys isn't/aren't...

    Weird!

Thanks for your reply. But it would be much easier just to reboot which clears the problem. And perhaps find another desktop restore utility which does not cause this problem. I lose the desktop icon placments if I boot the machine with the (HDMI) monitor switched off. Thanks again Cheemag

    Weird!

Hello Again, On occasion, when I double click on a desktop icon it comes up with the Properties window. Can I fix it without a reboot? Could it be the utility 'Save Desktop' which causes this. That utility repairs a desktop whose icons become scrambled. Progs launched from...

    Problem with KVM

Hello. Thanks for your post. Er ... it was a looke connection on one of the USB leads. I've taped over them to help prevent this happening again. Thanks again. -- Cheemag SOLVED

    Problem with KVM

Good Afternoon, Two Windows-7 Pro machines with KVM installed switching keyboard and mouse (not video). Second machine used to recognise KVM'd mouse but no longer does - sees it now as an unrecognised device. The keyboard works via the KVM but I've had to put an additional mouse on the...

    Weird File Behavious

Good Day, I have a flash drive attached to my Netgear router. Recently (and only recently) I get a 'Can't verify the creator of this file ... " warning box if I try to open a file with at .TXT extension via Total Commander or Windows Explorer on the Network drive (no problem with other...

    Silly Network Problem

Everything other than this one directory and LAME-generated .mp3s cause this nonsense. So the fault must lie with LAME or Sagebrush the vendor of RecAll Pro, an application no longer supported in any meaningful way, but very useful to me. I see no sense in changing everything else that works...

    Silly Network Problem

Sorry ! I can't work that way. I am the only user of the network so passwords are an unnecessary inconvenience. All the folders that need to be shared are shared. Where I have one directory shared on all three machines I have used Subst as drive F: on each machine to a folder on a large flash...

    Silly Network Problem

GA Mike, It's all part of a workgroup known as simply 'Workgroup', not HomeGroups. Yes the files produced are valid mp3s and no matter what folder they're written in, they only show up on CC and not across the local network. They can be copied across to other machines, but only from CC...
