    I'll (sheepishly) admit that I hadn't tried this before posting...I assumed that "Choose Default Program" would just change the default association for that file type, not let me add items to the menu. In my defense, I think that that name is sort of misleading - a better name for that option...

    I can deal with that. Exploring in the Registry a little bit, it looks like I could replace the * with a file extension to make this take effect for only a specific extension. I will have time to mess with this a little bit later today; I'll report back with any interesting results. Thanks!
