After hours of attemping to backwards flash my bios (of which no method worked as it always stated that bios was older than current one) I have decided that the only thing left to try is a full format. I hope this works because I have no other options. If anyone has any ideas please let me know.
Ok replaced the vid card with my 4800 and got a similar crash.. screen went brown then froze... never loaded the bsod I did do a bios flash when i got the pc to unlock the 6 core processor.... could this have caused it... and if so how to i get the old bios back? 6800 runs fine in my other pc.
Happened again... Added the BSOD this time. Please check if there is anythign new or diff i should consider.. I am loathe to tell them they need a new gfx card when they just blew $280 on this one and the sales place aint so nice about returns.
Will spend the day testing and assuming all goes well will post as much. Thankyou for your help :) I already uninstalled avg just to be sure. Thanks again
Ok have downloaded the relevant Via Driver Have also downloaded PCI/mPCI/CB (RT2860 /RT2760 /RT2890 /RT2790 /RT306X /RT309X /RT35X2) 07/29/2010 as i assumed this was the right one. Updated Display Driver to 10-10 .. which is 2 revisions earlier then the current one.
Updated Audio drivers from Asus website but still from 2009. I also downloaded the wireless drivers straight from the Dlink website, but they are still only V1.00_S0008
