    Windows 7 Microsoft's Anti-Virus

I'm really surprised too - go check Virus Bulletin : VB100 results - Symantec Symantec's been doing quite well. I am very biased against it though as my experiences with it stem from the pre 2000 years where Symantec couldn't pass the VB 100 to save its own life and it ran so dog slow it made...

Windows Vista Why Windows Vista failed (or so people say)

Sales of Vista broke XP sales records because MS started something new with this OS. They're counting PC's sold with VISTA per their agreements with PC Manufacturers even though the end user downgraded to XP or installed Linux. Truth be told, Vista lives on much fewer PC's that XP ever did or...

    Windows 7 Microsoft's Anti-Virus

Gotta disagree with you on number 8!! I recently installed MSSQL Server Service Pack 3 on our Development Database Server only to end up having to rebuild the entire environment I spent DAYS trying to figure out why all SSIS packages were broken and Report Server wouldn't serve up the reports...

    Windows 7 Microsoft's Anti-Virus

There's only 1 Anti-Virus Choice - if you're smart ESET - that's the ONLY AV product that hasn't has a SINGLE failure on the VB100 since 2002 (Virus Bulletin : VB100 results - Eset) and it ranks NUMBER 1 on their list as well with only 3 failures since 1998 when it first entered the foray...

Windows 7 The most USELESSand HATED features in W7 (I like W7 BTW)

And I should have all my clients and family members go futzing in their registry's ? I think NOT! This should be built into the operating system nice little user friendly messages and NOT crap like "Keyboard not found. Press any key to continue ..." My point is that the state of error...

Windows 7 The most USELESSand HATED features in W7 (I like W7 BTW)

I just discovered a con that's driven me UP A WALL ... Installed the Power Point Viewer (the free sucka) and no sooner than I HAD installed it Windows wanted to install an update. Ok fine do it ... Wants to reboot, so I do - another update with the SAME kb number was nagging my in the action...

Windows 7 Classic vs. New Start Menu

Thanks - always glad to help out when I can :) Play around with it. You may end up loving just as I have. It's worth the purchase price in oh so many ways. Although ... I haven't tried it on Windows 7 yet but I will when I get a spare interrupt this evening. Yes, I purchased 8 copies; one for...

Windows 7 Classic vs. New Start Menu

Sounds like you could use something like True Launch Bar - Superior replacement for standard Quick Launch.

Windows Vista Why Windows Vista failed (or so people say)

Windows XP, An OS that's uhm, 7 years old, Vista, An Os that's about 2 ... Hmmmm which do YOU think is more mature? I'm not making excuses for the lack of driver support for VISTA but. Since WHEN is it the responsibility of the OS Manufacturer to produce drivers for the many millions of...

Windows 7 The most USELESSand HATED features in W7 (I like W7 BTW)

I use it from time to time when I'm hunting down shortcuts to programs where I've forgotten I've put them. Fast way to checkout the shortcuts on my desktop without having to minimize the many, many windows I have open.

    Windows 7 Winhlp32

What's your "environment"? I've installed VS.NET TS 2008 without problem and the help is working just fine.

Windows 7 Any other browser support the tab preview yet

Tried Opera yet? That's just from the taskbar. All applications I've run so far do that including Office and VS.NET TS! I think he's thinking more of the Google Chrome type preview tab when you first start it up. Is that not true?

    Windows 7 Windows 7 Defragmenter

Built-in Defragementer? Seriously? Why would anyone use the built in defragmenter anyways? The one that's in XP is a "busted" version of Diskeeper. Try JkDfreg or JkDefrag64 (JkDefrag v3.36) and READ up on what defragmenting too often does to the life of your drives. Twice a month is all...
