Thanks Mike. If you think XP was better at search (like I do) try the everything search from voidtools as suggested before you in this thread. I'm liking it, thanks Pat. I never got on well with locate32. It was an improvement over Win 7 search, but this one from voidtools is a winner.

Thanks. I've changed that as a result of your suggestion. It doesn't seem to have helped. I just searched on my SSD C Drive which is only 78GB (37GB free) and it took half an hour to search for abc.txt. It's clearly still looking in the files despite me telling it not to via drive properties...

Very disappointed with VMWare experience (again). Converting VHD files to a working VMWare virtual machine is a process that the VMWare player doesn't know anything about. There's a converter on the vmware website but it's so out of date it doesn't even understand Vista, never mind Win 7. I...
