So I got really hacked off and reinstalled everything from the ground up. The drive worked fine, long enough to install Office 2003 without a problem and then all of a sudden it's back to not working yet again. wtf?? Windows 7 is nice, but if I can't have a DVD drive it's useless.

I've tried several discs, games software, interestingly if I put an audio CD in media player autoplays but I get no sound and I can't change the track or open the CD through "my computer" so it knows something is there. I also just noticed it says I have a floppy drive.....I do not. Flash...

Wow, thanks for the extremely fast response. I had seen that fix posted on another forum but when I go to the spot in the registry I don't see anything marked upperfilters or lowerfilters, I have attached a screenshot (hopefully correctly) of that part of my registry.
