Windows 7 Windows 7 Permissions Issues After Partitioning and Removing Windows XP

That's my problem, I don't know what it means. I have a single 300gb harddisc parted into two partitions. When I installed Win7, I was not assigned as user of those files, so I had to make myself user, or, grant myself the authority to use them. I thought I had that authority fully, but as it...

Windows 7 Windows 7 Permissions Issues After Partitioning and Removing Windows XP

I'm not being secretive at all, I've answered all the info you required. Do you require more? What is there to be secretive about? The problem is that the conclusion this thread led to is "10gb is not enough to maintain Win7 on", which has nothing to do with my problem. And I never implied...

Windows 7 Windows 7 Permissions Issues After Partitioning and Removing Windows XP

That's not the discussion, like I said, I'm trying to fix the partition problem. I have plenty of free space now on my other partition but I cannot further expand it because of some other problem, which I'm solving in a separate thread. I made this thread to solve the administrator problem or...

Windows 7 Windows 7 Permissions Issues After Partitioning and Removing Windows XP

I don't want to dualboot, but if it solves many problems... I had no choice but to put it on a 10gb partition, because my other files, at the time, were taking up 290gb. I only had 10gb to spare, which I made into a partition, then installed Win7 on it. I then started up and removed the XP from...

That is correct... I want full access to my D: partition. I have limited authority for some reason. I did the standard thing properties > security > advanced > users and empowered myself, but there's some sort of bureaucratic error that disallows me to make full use of the partition.

Luckily they're not :P Sorry, it was late. I was convinced it was readable at the time. Ten words: I want to discuss Win7's method to prevent illegal software.

Windows 7 Unable to Expand Windows 7 Partition After Upgrade: Need Assistance

If I understand you correctly, then I think that is the situation. I parted my XP / other files into a D drive, then installed Win7 on a C drive, which was new. Is there a way around it? It seems so random, not being able to add to that disc because the other one was first. I have free space...

Windows 7 A "victim of illegal software"

I skipped Vista, so XP, Office 2007 and some driver disks is in there. Was that the point or does no one care? :P

There's no way to just get authority without having to back up all my files and stuff?
