I like Ubuntu too I use Xubuntu 8.10 on a second PC I have here. In case you don`t know Xubuntu has the XFCE desktop and you can install KDE as well too.I don`t run compiz at all because it defeats the purpose of having a minimal desktop.You can also add packages from other desktops as well...
