Windows 10 Win 10 BSOD, RMA CPU?

Yeah, doesn't seem like something for pleasure reading... As far as to what's going on right now, the CPU is now cozy in a stock Dell Optiplex 7040 and BSODs on startup shortly before it would reach the Windows log on screen (MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION). This machine seems to be running Win 7...

Windows 10 Win 10 BSOD, RMA CPU?

Hi Kemical, Great thanks! The CPU's never been overclocked and always seemed to be running cool (in the 40 to 45C range during normal work, so neither of those should have anything to do with it, unless the PSU was feeding too much power. I'll wait on your response, maybe by then I'll have...

Windows 10 Win 10 BSOD, RMA CPU?

Yesterday it didn't matter what I did, none of the advanced start up options allowed any sort of time in Windows (it even BSOD'd after a system refresh). I can't test it right now since the CPU is out and I'm out of thermal compound, but I'll be able to remedy that over lunch.

Windows 10 Win 10 BSOD, RMA CPU?

Hey BBJ, Problem with your suggestion of monitoring the CPU with those programs is that I can't put the CPU in a system to run anything, as it BSODs at logon. I was able to get into the BIOS and look at the basic specs, and the voltages and temp all looked fine. Once I get some more thermal...

Windows 10 Win 10 BSOD, RMA CPU?

NOTE: Sorry for the long post, trying to be thorough. Just for reference, these are the specs of the machine. Everything is running stock, it's a work machine: OS: Win 10 Pro CPU: i7-6700K Motherboard: ASUS Z170-A LGA 1151 RAM: 2x G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB 288-Pin DDR4 Using onboard GPU...

Windows 7 Same BSOD on multiple identical laptops

Alright, back again! So the verifier's been running for a few days now, but didn't cause any blue screens. In addition it hasn't BSOD'd once since sitting on my desk, but I haven't done anything I'm aware of that would have corrected any issues, so I'm not really sure where to go from here...

Windows 7 Same BSOD on multiple identical laptops

Hello again, BIGBEARJEDI - I used nothing that fancy, I transcoded video for 20 minutes which held the CPU at 95 to 100%. I definitely can temp stress the CPU further in the future, but the idea was just to give it a short workout and see how high the temps go under short heavy usage, since...

Windows 7 Same BSOD on multiple identical laptops

Update so far. Checked temps, they looked fine. I'll upload a screenshot of them once the HP Diagnostics are done running, I left them on the laptop's desktop. But CPU was idling at around 39/40C, and went up to 58 to 62C during a stress test. The Intel CPU Diagnostics passed. I'm now doing...

Windows 7 Same BSOD on multiple identical laptops

Awesome, thanks for the tips! I won't have time to go through all the steps above till a bit later in the day today, but I'll go through all and then I'll report back! This is happening on at least 5 identical laptops that are brand new, with only the SSDs having been added, so if it's problem...

Windows 7 Same BSOD on multiple identical laptops

Greetings BSOD Gurus! I have one that's stumping me, and even though I tried I haven't been able to figure it out on my own. Quick backstory: These laptops are identical to each other, right now I'm looking at 5 or 6 of them doing the same thing, seemingly at random throwing a BSOD...
