Windows Vista Do you use IE8 beta?

Yeah currently using IE8. It's in IE7 mode though because various sites are bug-compliant with IE7. :)

    Windows Vista MacBook Pro? Vista?

I'm looking at the MacBook Pro as a possible new PC. Are there any significant issues with Vista on the Mac? I'll be using it for games, maybe DOS Box, digital media and Internet. I'm asking because I'm sorta interested in having Mac OS X as a secondary for various reasons. Otherwise, I'd be...

Windows Vista Vista - UAC settings

Yeah something like that. You can shut Security Center up. On the other hand, turning UAC off isn't advisable. You'll find it gets less annoying over time anyway.

Windows Vista How to remove IE7?

Instead of trying to use IE6, why not see if a third-party browser such as Opera or Firefox does the trick? :) <Note: I am not in any way, an IE7 hater>

Windows Vista Burning Vista to CD-ROMS?

No idea if it can be done. You can order CD versions of Vista from Microsoft (x86 only) if you want. Don't know how much it costs.

Windows Vista How many times can you install Office 2007 on diff. comp?

Just once? Didn't they fix that with later versions of Vista? The EULA holds this theory. Once-only is only explicitly stated for Anytime Upgrade but not retail copies. OEMs are of course tied to the PC they came on. The only issue is that moving it requires you to activate by phone...

Windows Vista Whats a good Vista compatible AntiVirus program?

Vista has decent security apps. AVG or Avast! complement it nicely (even the free ones). Both options are light on memory.

Windows Vista Local Security Policy In Vista Home Premium

Looks like it's time for Microsoft to introduce a little something called consistency.

Windows Vista Vista eating disk space

Hmmm. Shadow Copy would've been my first guess. Maybe it's some other cache that is new to Vista? Or maybe it's just a bug in the gauge. :)

Windows Vista Jedi Knight Academy OpenGL Prob...

It's a driver issue most likely. My PC can play Quake 4 and similar OpenGL apps fine. Unfortunately, unlike Direct3D (uhh, wonder why) OpenGL isn't supported out-of-the-box.

    Windows Vista User Account Control

Not recommended, but here's how. Go to the Start Orb and type "Local Security Policy" into the search box. Permit. Go to Local Policies->Security Options, find the item named "User Account Control: Behavior of the elevation prompt for administrators in Admin Approval Mode" (long isn't it?) and...

Windows Vista Vista Install DVD problem

It is possible to install Windows Vista from the hard drive assuming you can get the files on the DVD to the Presario. The Presario needs to have some form of O/S (Windows XP should work fine) on it that can run the installer. If both are true, go to this link and read on. How to perform a...

    Windows Vista User Account Control

Unfortunately, I don't think you can bypass UAC for specific applications. If admin privs are needed, you will have to manually elevate it. You could turn UAC off completely, but doing that is a bad idea. You learn to live with it anyway. But if you really want it gone, you can turn UAC off in...

Windows Vista Can MY comp handle it?

You should definitely be able to run Vista. As for Aero, Quote from the help file: Aero also requires a DirectX 9 class graphics processor that supports a Windows Display Driver Model Driver, Pixel Shader 2.0 in hardware, and 32 bits per pixel. Oh, the installer is on a DVD I believe. So...

Windows Vista iTunes incompatibility w/ Windows Vista x64

Annoying glitch in Windows Vista. Running an application in compatibility mode seems to create a crash when the app closes. I have NO idea why. I'm using RC1. And I hope it's fixed in the RTM version. At least it doesn't hurt much. It just drops your reliability index... :(
