Gaby Martin

I was born in Lima, Peru to Peruvian parents. I am fair skinned and blond so I look not like a Latin goddess. Moved here as a little kid. Grew up in So. California and its beach areas. Eventually migrated north. Have been married all of my adult life (but not to the same person). Have three awesome kids, 2 of whom live in San Jose, which is in the Silicon Valley if you don't know, and my youngest who lives in Hawaii. I also have an incredibly gorgeous grandbaby, who's 3 and my son's son. I was a legal secretary/paralegal all of my adult life. Not doing that anymore and I really miss the action and fast pace. I'm now doing what I've always wanted: write. I primarily write comedic pieces and I hope to write that bestseller I have talked about all of my life. I live in Berkeley, which is in No. California. Berkeley was a big center of activism. In Berkeley, political awareness and freedom are the norm, self expression, individuality, intellectual freedom and artistry are encouraged. That translates into there are a lot of old hippies who wear really, really ugly clothes, who do a lot of street art and who complain about everything. There are a bunch of really good things as well. Berkeley boasts one of the best universities and law schools in the country. This, of course, makes for revolutionary ideals mixed with intellectualism. In the 70s, Berkeley had a revolutionary reputation because of the activism occurring due to the political climate. Berkeley has retained much of that and it makes for
a hotbed of unrest and political upheaval at times. And it's pretty, too. Interestingly, Berkeley's neighbor is Oakland, one of the country most crime ridden areas.
