Windows 7 Win 7 Networking Permissions Issue

I think this might be related...... The user account "Confidential" on the server has, of course, its user folder, C:\Users\Confidential. There is also a share defined, called "Confidential" that provides permissions for ED (and SPAREPC) to access this folder. So, there is a user and a share...

Windows 7 Win 7 Networking Permissions Issue

Thanks again for your help and advice. I have achieved my objective, although not in the way you have suggested! And I don't understand how what I did to achieve said objective worked. First of all, it occurred to me that, if I was trying to configure permissions for a user through NTFS...

Windows 7 Win 7 Networking Permissions Issue

Thanks for the quick reply, Trouble! I'll have a look tomorrow. I think I am confusing share permissions with NTFS permissions. But it is interesting that, if I add Everyone to the Share permissions, she can access the folder just fine! Trouble is, so can everyone else.... of course!

Windows 7 Win 7 Networking Permissions Issue

First of all, apologies if this has been raised before. I couldn't search through all the previous posts to find it or similar! OK, I'm supporting a small office network - only 4 computers - 3 laptops and a desktop, acting as a server. All 4 machines are running Win 7 Pro, and all are...

Windows 7 Logitech Quickcam Express doesn't work -at all-

I've run out of ideas, I'm afraid. Can you get any help from Logitech? They may say they are not supporting Win7 yet, or they may be aware of your issues. Can't hurt, anyway!

Windows 7 Logitech Quickcam Express doesn't work -at all-

More straws - I'm sure you have tried these...... 1. I presume you have tried the (limited!) troubleshooting tips on the Logitech site if you get "camera in use....." 2. If you go into Update Driver Software (from Device Manager entry for your camera), Click Browse...., then pick "Let me...

Windows 7 Logitech Quickcam Express doesn't work -at all-

I notice from an earlier post that you had found other drivers and installed them. Have you made sure they are all uninstalled before trying the Logitech ones again? (Clutching at straws here, I'm afraid!!!)

Windows 7 Logitech Quickcam Express doesn't work -at all-

Lazure, Forgive me if you have tried all these things, of if I am stating the obvious, but....... 1. Presumably you are installing the correct set of drivers for your version of Win7; i.e. 64-bit drivers for 64-bit Win7, or 32-bit drivers for 32-bit Win7. If not, make sure you download the...

Windows 7 Logitech Quickcam Express doesn't work -at all-

Exter.... In answer to your questions, Yes, the file I downloaded was qc1150_x64.exe I do not know where the drivers were found. What I did was let the Hardware wizard run, select :Browse My Computer for drivers, then place C:\ in the "Search for driver software in this location" box, make...

Windows 7 Logitech Quickcam Express doesn't work -at all-

Don't know if this will help anyone, but I just tried to install my Quickcam Communicate STX into Win7 64-bit, successfully, in the end, but with some problems: 1. Downloaded 64-bit drivers for Vista from Logitech site 2. Ran install program in Vista compatibility mode. Ignored warning about...

    Windows 7 Dual Booting

No problem, JKo. Hope the head feels better! Just to show how it works, these are the partitions on my drive where Vista, Win 7 and XP are installed, in order from left to right as shown in Disk Management (under Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Computer Management>Services) - drive letters...

    Windows 7 Dual Booting

Have you made sure you can have UNCHECKED "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)" in your Folder view options (advanced settings)? You should also "Show hidden files, folders and drives". Ignore the warning! If you don't do that, you will not see boot.ini. But it MUST be there...

Windows 7 Suddenly can't install anything.

There is a simpler fix to the problem, published by MS, that should appear automatically in the Action Center messages if you have reported the problem to MS. If not, here it is..... Windows 7 No Upgrade from XP to Windows 7

Jimbo, I'm with you that a Clean install can be a pain - takes me about 4 days! But I think it is the best choice. Apart from getting the new system set up cleanly, you can review all your installed apps, and discard the ones you don't use, clean out drivers for devices you have replaced, clean...
