Update: I checked the Permissions under the Security settings and made sure everything was set for Admin. Now I start up iTunes and the UAC comes up asking me if I want to iTunes to make changes to my computer. <sigh> Wish I knew what was going on... hopefully someone out there can help out!
As the others mentioned... use OpenOffice.org. I've used it for a long time and it's a fantastic FREE alternative to MS Office. I'm using the 64-bit version right now and it works smoothly.
