yea you want to select the first option. oh and i fixed my problem! jumping off your idea, i checked my folder properties and had to check "allow file contents to be indexed"...now it works :)

in explorer, go to file>folder and search options go to search tab see if you have "always search file names and contents" (second option) selected default is first selected. i had slow search from start bar too, but after i switched to second option, it restored the fast search. nonetheless...

i'm having trouble with searching actual file content. i know a key phrase is in a word document somewhere, but i can't find those documents anymore when i type the key phrase in...any one else with this?

ok i tried to look in many of the "start menu" folders under users...not sure if i hit all the right spots, but i didn't see references to "computer" i tried the administrator account, but when i log onto that, the start menu's pretty much completely different with no "computer" pinned on. not...

yes i'm sure im clicking right. and properties just brings up the actual my computer properties, as in showing me registration key info. i would send this feedback to microsoft, but i disabled those buttons cuz they were annoying.
