The one thing I'm not going to do is reinstall windows. I have so much custom setup, 200GB+ of personal files and many hard-to-get programs. I'd really like it if I can solve this without a reinstall.

Semi-followup to my previous question. After solving that (by switching my installation to UEFI boot) I still have a minor issue: Windows Recovery is missing. There is no BCD entry for it, F:\EFI\Microsoft\Recovery is empty, C:\Recovery is also empty. What should I do to repair it?

I fixed it in the end by converting my disk to GPT and writing a new EFI partition, which in the end means I can boot from UEFI which is nice. I do however have a new issue: I'm missing the Windows Recovery Environment. F:\EFI\Microsoft\Recovery is empty except for a BCD store, which has no...

It isn't a GPT disk, it's MBR, as said above.
