Windows 7 Is It Possible to Receive a Corrupted Version of Windows?

I have a question about a desktop workstation I purchased from Dell. The PC in question is a Dell OptiPlex 580 which came with an OEM installation of Windows 7 Pro x64. Please bear with the length of my post, and forgive me if I am not posting this in the correct forum. I’m not sure if there is...

Windows 7 Dubugging shows BSOD "probably caused by Ntfs.sys, ntkrnlmp.exe, win32k.sys."

I ran SeaTools for DOS but could not find any errors. As for as updating the firmware for my HDD, I'm not really sure how to go about doing that. My model number is: WDC WD2500AAJS-75M0A0 and my current firmware version is 02.03E02, but I couldn't find that on model number on the Western...

Windows 7 Dubugging shows BSOD "probably caused by Ntfs.sys, ntkrnlmp.exe, win32k.sys."

I updated the network drivers. Will be checking out the firmware on my hard drive to see if any updates are available, and will then start running some diagnostics on hard drive. Updated computer info attached. If there's anything else you see that you think needs addressed, let me know. Thanks!

Hey, thanks for the reply! I am in the process of applying some updates as I type this, and will continue to do so until there aren't any more to grab. About the USB Wi-Fi; yeah, I know PCI/PCIe cards are better. I just installed this a week or two ago for trying to fix this workstation home...

One more thing I forgot to add; I did receive some advice to update the video driver a few weeks ago. I used a program called Driver Fusion from Treexy to remove all the AMD components from the PC that I could. I then downloaded a more recent version of the ATI Radeon HD 4200 display driver v...

Hello all! I have been trying to fix a 64-bit Windows 7 Professional workstation in a domain environment. Basic system info listed below: Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_gdr.120830-0333) System Manufacturer: Dell Inc. System...

Windows 7 x64 Windows 7 BSODs... Too Many to List in Thread Title!

So I double checked, and I guess I still need to figure out how to manually configure core VID. Neither the CPU or Power tabs in BIOS seem to have this feature. I don't think this is something I am able to do from the Catalyst Control Center either, so I'll need to see if I can figure this...

Windows 7 x64 Windows 7 BSODs... Too Many to List in Thread Title!

I have disabled C1E and AMD Cool-n-Quiet in BIOS. I double checked to see if any power saving features were enabled in the OS, but as I suspected, everything was set to maximum performance. Still not entirely sure how to adjust the core VID (mine is set to 1.400v), but will go back into BIOS...

Windows 7 x64 Windows 7 BSODs... Too Many to List in Thread Title!

Does anyone know why CPU-Z returned so little information about the graphics card on this problem PC? Someone suggested that my graphics card may be overclocking without my knowledge, but I am not getting a lot of info about it. Check the difference in data collected between my laptop and the...

Windows 7 x64 Windows 7 BSODs... Too Many to List in Thread Title!

It's probably nothing, but I noticed something while checking out the RAMMon report. It says that DDR3 slots 1 and 2 are empty and that slots 3 and 4 seat the RAM. This is contrary to the way the slots are numbered on the motherboard. They are numbered 4 - 1, starting at 4 (closest to the...

Windows 7 x64 Windows 7 BSODs... Too Many to List in Thread Title!

I am having a problem with multiple BSODs that is driving me CRAZY! I’ve been trying, off and on, for over a year to solve this. About every two to three weeks, the PC crashes out of nowhere. At times it has gone almost three months between crashes, and at others, it has crashed more than...
