i had this problem with vista as well. it did it automatically and one day stopped. i think on vista there is an update to address the issue i just never installed it and i performed an upgrade to win 7 so i don't know if it carried over from vista or if others will have a problem with cs3 in win7.
it's a newer computer with good specs, something told me to wait since the hdd led was going crazy. typically i would have quit waiting in a few minutes myself.

when you enter your username during setup of the account profile are you including the domain\username? under the security tab do you have "always prompt for login credentials" checked? doesn't seem to make a difference when i tested anyway. you may want to check it, apply changes and uncheck...
