I nuked the latest Windows updates with System Restore and everything is back to normal. Should have done that in the first place.

I did this and all the icons on the desktop shrunk but the toolbar at the top of the page and all the other windows remained large.

Everything was wider and bigger on the screen. I thought the resolution somehow changed but I changed that back to what I thought was the original 1366 x 738 and everything is not wide any more but everything is still large. The setting for "Change the size of text, apps..." is at 100% but...

The computer is always on when the connection is lost. I will try all those things and find out if I get a disconnect. Is there any chance that resetting Windows to when I bought my computer will solve the problem?
