Its not the resolution settings on the computer. When i put the dvd in my dvd player hooked up to my widescreen tv, it does the exact same thing, bars on both sides of the screen, and the video looks squicshed. I've checked the settings on the dvd player as well, and it says its set to 16:9...
it does the exact same thing in a dvd player with my widescreen tv, narrow bars on each side of the screen, and the video looks squished. the menu comes out alright, just the video. on a 4:3 tv it just looks squished.

I have had this exact same problem, and I'm using the full release of windows 7 home premium 64 bit. I don't know what the problem is, and I hope someone posts a reply with a possible solution. Message me if you've found out the problem.
