it turns out that i had a faulty motherboard....i went out and bought a new one and it works just fine now

do u think installing an older version of windows and then upgrading to 7 would work??

the light on the dvd player does turn on and it does sound like their is activty going on in the drive...at first i got the black screen and it would just freeze there then i tried installing the dvd using another machine onto the blank hdd....after i tried that durring the installation on the...

yes i have....everything shows up in the other machine and i also tried swaping the drives and the same thing happened

i do have it set to boot off of cd/dvd as first boot device and i have seen the press any key to boot from cd and after i press something it will just go into a black screen sometimes its windows 7 p

I just built a new system and ive been having trouble booting the windows 7 cd....when i put the cd in a screen comes up and says "bootmgr missing press ctrl+alt+del to restart"
