Windows 7 Windows 7 not sharing printer to xp pc

Well, that's clearly not good, is it! Have you tried deleting, re-booting, and re-installing the printer?

Windows 7 Windows 7 not sharing printer to xp pc

Is the printer on the W7 marked as shared? Did you delete the printer and then re-establish the printer from the XP machine?

Windows 7 Both 32 and 64 bit will be included/

I'm glad that both versions will be supplied but clearly you are meant to only use one of those and presumably only the last one activated will work without a genuine advantage type warning showing up.

Windows 7 HDTV Issues Media Centre

Well, other than a sluggish EPG my MCE is working mostly brilliantly here in NZ and I'm over the moon about it. I have two Leadtek cards (DVT1000S and DTV1800H) and the only setup glitch was that first needed a Vista32 driver rather than the one provided with W7. The problem showed up as a...

Windows 7 Windows Update wakes PC,

OK, that seems to have cracked it. The actual full name of the offending task is mcupdate_scheduled and the description is "Check for Media Center updates." The task is also present on my laptop with the same default "Wake the PC" settings but it does not exhibit the wake problem presumably...

Windows 7 Windows Update wakes PC,

Thanks, tried that last night - didn't help. However, after it woke up again this morning and I made further detailed inspection of the event logs and task scheduler I think I've found the culprit. The task mcupdate is set to "wake the PC" at 9:11 am, just when I'm seeing other logged events...

Windows 7 Windows Update wakes PC,

Damn PC is still waking up by itself. Question: the Dell's document, pictures, etc, are shared on the homegroup. When I start up my laptop which is on the homegroup would that wake up the Dell based on the shares?

Windows 7 Windows Update wakes PC,

Thanks, loathe, the Dell didn't wake up under XP and everything else has been tried. I need to keep the power profile wake timers on to allow scheduled TV recording to take place. I will check the ACPI-related drivers manually in case there is an update. Changing the time on windows update...

Windows 7 Windows Update wakes PC,

Well, my Dell does wake up most nights but my Toshiba laptop doesn't, both W7 RC. Don't know if WU is the reason for the wakeup but the event log on the Dell shows the wakeup time coincides exactly with the default daily update time of 3:00am. I've turned off every possible place I can...

Windows 7 Remote Assistance does not work on one Laptop.

For what it's worth, if I uncheck the checkbox "Allow Remote Assistance connections to this computer" I get the exact same message.

Windows 7 Remote Assistance does not work on one Laptop.

OK, I was able to request assistance from the U205 and and subsequently reply and engage from my other W7-based PC on the LAN, no problems. Firewall? Router? Might be outside of W7, don't know never used remote assistance before but will now! I assume you've enable RA in the control panel...

Windows 7 Desperate for Help! SATA and RAID setup

With only the two raid disks installed, prep the array with the ctrl-I utility, boot from the W7 install CD, you should see one disk. Format, partition as required, install W7 and then enable the remaining disks afterwards.

Windows 7 Remote Assistance does not work on one Laptop.

Well I don't have all those answers but the fingerprint hardware is described in the device manager as: Biometric Devices - Touchchip Fingerprint Coprocessor. The software is called Protector Suite. If the software isn't installed than it's not likely to be the problem. Perhaps try placing a...
