Thanks for the info. before I do the above, my Samsung printer does still work so do you think I still need to action as you suggest above, as I don't want to mess up my printer?

My laptop upgraded yesterday and each time I now get a message at startup "problem starting c:\Windows\system32\eed_ec.dll specified module could not be found" How do I sort this out please?
