I am looking for recommendations for a bluetooth earpiece

Well, my old (formerly) faithful Plantronics Voyager earpiece finally bit the dust. I need to replace it with one that has a clear signal and loud volume to use in the car with windows down. The one thing I didn't like about the Voyager is the magnetic connection with the charging cable that...

Windows 10 How do I permanently disable Windows updates?

I am going to bump this thread in hopes that somebody has a suggestion. I don't get an error message which might be helpful. The update simply auto-uninstalls as seen above and I am back to 1803. :headache:

Windows 10 How do I permanently disable Windows updates?

Thank you for your suggestion. I downloaded the Update Assistant and used it. The process begins normally. And continues. I restart and see the following: Which leads me to believe that the system updated to the newest release. But then the laptop auto-reboots and I see: And I am...

Windows 10 How do I permanently disable Windows updates?

I have an old Toshiba Satellite with Windows 10 Pro 32 bit installed. It will automatically update to release 1903 and then automatically uninstall it. The whole process takes over an hour due to slow internet and slower processor. I am thinking that the system is unable to handle this release...

    Very small SSDs - Why?

How old? I am thinking about putting a SSD drive in a Toshiba Satellite A205 with a 32 bit processor that originally had Windows Vista. So, yes, it's quite old. I was able to upgrade to Windows 10, but the magnetic hard drive is very slow and so I was considering a SSD. Here is one of those...

    Very small SSDs - Why?

I'm shopping around for an SSD to replace my aging magnetic HDD in an old laptop. I see that they make SSDs as small as 8GB. How does that work? I'm guessing that you load your OS onto the small SSD and insert a separate HDD for files or just connect an external. But is 8 or even 16GB adequate...

Windows 10 Windows updates don't seem to install

I'm reviving an old Toshiba Satellite with Windows 10 32 bit and see the following under Update & Security: I click, see that Windows is looking for updates, and then nothing happens. It just goes back to this message. My internet connection is fast, there is no other reason that updates...

Thanks for your input but I don't believe it's my friend's email. I get this message with every link in any email I receive now. For example I have been taking online surveys with e-rewards for years with no problem, and when I clicked the link to load a new survey I get this: And I tried to...

Windows 10 Your organization's policies are preventing us from completing this action for you. I

I use Outlook 2016 for my email. I am attempting to open a link in an email from a friend (trusted source) but for some reason I received the following message: This has to be the result of an update that happened yesterday because I have never received this message before. I followed both...

Windows 10 I would like to take back control of my OneDrive

OK, thanks. I obviously want to keep files in OneDrive, just use the web interface like Neemobeer says. I'll follow the above instructions and that should take care of it. To make sure, my files will stay in the cloud, correct? Like I mentioned before, I don't want to delete OneDrive, just get...

Windows 10 I would like to take back control of my OneDrive

I still have OneDrive in my File Explorer list. But when I click on it I am prompted to re-sync OneDrive to my PC, which I don't want. I would like to get back to a simple file structure like I have on my work computer. But this is an improvement and I can live with not having OneDrive...

USB flash drive appears in Settings but not in File Explorer

Using Windows 10 on a Dell Latitude. I have a PNY flash drive plugged into a USB port. It's 3.0 but should be backward compatible to any USB port, right? I can see it in the Settings. But I don't see it in File Explorer. And ideas?

Windows 10 I would like to take back control of my OneDrive

Thanks for your reply. Would it simply be a matter of unlinking my PC in the settings?
