Windows 7 No IPv4 or IPv6 Connectivity - Adapter installed, network not found

I'm not sure anyone is still watching, but the issue is RESOLVED. I randomly ran the Windows generic diagnostic again. Somewhere I was able to click "details" and came across the following error message: "Windows couldn't automatically bind the IP protocol stack to the network adapter." So...

Windows 7 No IPv4 or IPv6 Connectivity - Adapter installed, network not found

No change when I disabled and re-enabled the adapter. I also went through your other suggestions, with no change. Thanks for the info on miniport. I'm sure you're right. Probably unrelated, but under the heading of "who knows?".... In order to re-install WAN miniport, all suggestions are to...

Windows 7 No IPv4 or IPv6 Connectivity - Adapter installed, network not found

I looked at hidden drivers. There are many, most associated with WAN miniport, none that actually read "wireless adapter." I don't know what WAN miniport is, but some of the associated words looked familiar, so I attempted to update all of the drivers. WAN miniport IP came back with...

Windows 7 No IPv4 or IPv6 Connectivity - Adapter installed, network not found

No joy. If you know, could you tell me which of the USB drivers from Device Manager is in charge of the actual ports? What might be involved in uninstalling them? Will Windows reinstall on reboot automatically? etc. I want to try that. I don't think that's it, but I'm out of options...

Windows 7 No IPv4 or IPv6 Connectivity - Adapter installed, network not found

Hello again. I have run scannow, and it came back with no errors - or whatever it says like that. I have attempted to get things going with the ethernet disconnected, and it didn't work. I agree that it seems the driver is the problem. Specifically, it is not installing properly; I have...

Windows 7 No IPv4 or IPv6 Connectivity - Adapter installed, network not found

As for your first pic, mine looks just like yours, but where yours reads, "not connected," mine reads, "enabled." Also, mine does not have a red X. As for the ipconfig.txt, mine is similar to yours, only for LAN and not WAN. There is no information for WAN, unless tunnel activity counts. My...

I'm back. Anything new to add..... I hope???

Sadly, it has shown as "enabled" since the beginning, through everything. Here is the new ipconfig. I'm off to the dentist.

Windows 7 No IPv4 or IPv6 Connectivity - Adapter installed, network not found

Oh, no. Not fine. It is enabled, but still no IPv4 connection. No packets. No change. Sorry about that. I have to be gone a couple of hours. Please, if you can think of anything else, first thing I'll do is check here when I get back. Thank you - M

I did as you suggested, and yes, it installed. It is currently in device manager, enabled. I wasn't trying to sound like a jerk, btw. Just feeling a fool for not knowing more about USB. I sincerely appreciate all the help I'm getting here. Also, there is a series of events that keeps...

Windows 7 No IPv4 or IPv6 Connectivity - Adapter installed, network not found

Is it fair to assume that there is a piece of hardware or firmware somewhere that would be skewed such that USB works for some devices, and not for wireless adapters? And would it be all ports? And is that something I can fix; a new USB driver? Don't laugh - I learn as I go :) Mindi I'm...

Windows 7 No IPv4 or IPv6 Connectivity - Adapter installed, network not found

I'm going to sound a bit naive here, but if it's not the adapter - and it's not, because it works elsewhere - what hardware can be wrong? My ethernet connection works fine. I'm using it now.

Windows 7 No IPv4 or IPv6 Connectivity - Adapter installed, network not found

Yes, both are set to automatic. I have posted a copy of my "status" window above; I have zero signal strength. The LED blinks twice when inserted, but does not stay on. I agree, it is more than just not connecting. Something is preventing it from getting that far. When I was using the WN...

Windows 7 No IPv4 or IPv6 Connectivity - Adapter installed, network not found

Yes, it is. Also, I have the install disk for the adapter, and tried that. Also, I attempted earlier versions of the driver (1.5 I think?) with no luck. Just now I had the ISP reset the connection - or whatever it is they do remotely - also, no luck.

Windows 7 No IPv4 or IPv6 Connectivity - Adapter installed, network not found

In my router's UI, the box for "enable SSID broadcast" is checked. I have checked another adapter and set the channel to 11 to match. Not sure it matters, but the SmartWizard will no longer launch. Thanks again. Also, I attempted to add the network manually. After clicking "add" I was shown...
