Windows 7 Clarification on "Upgrading from RC/RTM to Final"..

I was also a little confused by the OP on this one. I assume it must be a mistype, as the way it's worded they're putting RC/RTM together as though you might want to 'upgrade' from RTM to the Final. Obviously you can't 'upgrade' from the RTM as it's the exact same thing as the Final. The only...

Windows 7 the operating system is not presently configured to run this application

For me, the alarm bells rang in your original message about 'windows.old'. With a clean install it moves any old windows folder into windows.old - which is what you described. Sounds to me like it's done a clean install, not an upgrade. If that's the case, and your old program files still exist...

Windows 7 Windows Live Messenger error

For the record - I've had the message a few more times since disabling that plugin, so it isn't that.

Windows 7 7000 to 7022...where are my docs?? weird

Assuming your boot drive is C:, try looking in the C:\Users folder. Each folder in there corresponds to a user profile - you might just find your username in there twice, with slightly diffferent names. If so, check the Documents and whatever folders inside each of them - your missing files...

Windows 7 Adding more RAM impossible?

Certainly sounds like ram could be a possibility. It's not just a question of whether ram can be 'written to and read from'. The whole idea is that when something is written to ram, you get the same value back when you read from it. A fault will often result in different results coming back from...

Windows 7 Windows Live Messenger error

I've been having this repeatedly under both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 7. I also saw the apparent link with cd/dvd burning. I just saw the reply from 'Blessed' and turned off this plugin in WMP. Hey presto, the message has gone away! So it looks like this plugin needs looking at by the relevant...
