Windows 7 cant delete a folder

The folder may have become corrupt. Run a scandisk. Right click the c: drive > Properties > Tools Tab - Then select Eror-Checking and select both check boxes "Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors". You will need to reboot so the scandisk can...

Windows 7 Copy to c:\ doesn't work with batch file

If I secretly watched 100 people using UAC at default settings (Vista or 7) I'm sure not 1 of those people would read the prompt, or, they would read it, and regardless of said prompt, allow it anyway. Yes, maybe the op is not advanced enough to disable UAC and I shouldn't encourage it, but in...

Windows 7 Copy to c:\ doesn't work with batch file

I agree with reghakr. To fix the problem you need to know why it's happening first. Disable UAC (reboot after you disable it) then try it. If it works, then you know your problem. And yes, contrary to what you hear, it is safe to disable UAC, it is nothing but a nuisance.

    Windows 7 Radeon 9250 - Dual monitors = Solution?

Just offering up my 2 cents. Since you say you have a cloned screen, it sounds like you just need to change the Display options. Does the "Multiple Displays" option show "Extend these displays" ? I would suspect the option to "Duplicate these displays" is selected. Just a thought. Link...

Windows 7 FireFox = Instant BSOD on 2 different Comps.

Check the Windows update history and see if there is any update that was installed to both machines around the same time. Un-install of of these updates and see if it helps. Just a thought

    Windows 7 Windows 7 Help !

Yep, you can do it that way, but to do a clean install you need to burn the .iso (also seen as a rar file) to DVD so you can boot from and install it. Any DVD burning program should be able to do it. Be sure to burn it at a slow speed, a lot of people have had issues with the installation...

    Windows 7 Windows 7 Help !

When you boot up with the win7 DVD and begin the install process, you will be given the option to upgrade or custom. Choose custom and then you will be able to partition/format your hard drive and choose where to install win7. Keep in mind that this will delete everything on the hard drive. I...

    Windows 7 Windows 7 Help !

Did you "Upgrade" from vista? If so, then I would highly recommend doing a clean install instead. I'm not sure what the purpose of the Windows.old folder is for, perhaps it has some personal files you may want. I don't know if it serves the purpose of reverting back to Vista or not. If you...

Windows 7 How To Display Domain and Local Logon Accounts on Logon Screen

Agreed, I have searched for months on how to add the "classic" logon window vs the new eye candy way with no luck. I even managed to force control alt del to logon, but that didn't bring up the classic logon window

    Windows 7 Windows 7 Help !

That's a tough one. First thing you should look at is why the CPU is spiking to 100%. You're not really clear if it is always at 100% or just after it boots up. Given the problems you are having, I'd say it is sitting at or near 100% all the time. Find the process/processes that is causing...

    Windows 7 question...

I never have it turned on. If you are asking if it is just 'ok to turn it off' then, sure, it's not going to effect much, in fact, it could possibly improve system performance (although not by much). As john3347 stated above, it can come in handy, but in all honesty, I have never benefit from...

    Windows 7 Interesting Install

This whole cd/dvd driver issue during install seems to be very popular. I hope it does not carry over into the final version. The resolution to this problem is so wide spread, so there is no "one" fix for it. For me, it was burning the ISO to a DVD +r instead of a -r. For swtdivalove it was...

    Windows 7 windows 7 - Old Compaq?

What have you got to lose? Just give it a shot. I installed it on an old custom machine I built 8 years ago. AMD Athlon+ 3200 Thoroughbred with 768MB memory and an old ATI AGP graphics card. It runs pretty darn good.
