my redownload completed and i booted up in w8 and did what you suggested and it worked...tnx gene makes me wonder if fast start is broken or even what its for...

I will try that... but i deleted all partitions and reinstalled the os like a fresh new install still same problem so i guess i need to redownload

well microsoft has egg in its face... does anyone have this problem when you click on shutdown winlogon.exe crashes and says theres no disk in the drive retry ignor continue...something like that and after that the message wont dissappear and the computer wont shut down or restart...

i have a card reader that will read 4 to 6 types of cards and it has 5 usb ports as well and all of them used to be there but now they are gone...fyi this is a multi boot computer with 3 OS 's installed if i choose a different OS they are all there...all OS 's are windows 7. everythig is ok in...

i have lost all of my removable drives and dont know how to get them back on the same machine i boot on another drive and they are there but i need them on my 64 bit windows 7 install. can any one please help tnx gene:o:o:o

FYI only 800 and 1066 memory is supported by th i7-900 series cpu's and that includes the NEW 6 core hyperthreaded cpu...i found some patriot 1.5 voly 1066 memory that stableized my i7-920...only 1.5v works...NOT 1.5 to 1.6v rated not 1.65 not 1.7...ONLY 1.5v works...overclocking the memory only...
