Windows 7 How hot are your laptops' CPU and GPU?

Have you installed HWiNFO64? What does it say?

Windows 7 How hot are your laptops' CPU and GPU?

Well, I'd like to keep it unmodded while it's under warranty. I do realize it's a gaming laptop; however, I do not currently use it as such. Also, switching to an SSD would cost me a lot of disk space as I currently have a 1 TB disk inside.

My lowest has never even been your highest.

Windows 7 How hot are your laptops' CPU and GPU?

Of course I can hear it - do you think I wouldn't notice that something blowing at 10 - 30 dB has stopped blowing? It's under extended warranty, so I'll just send it to the repairshop for an examination and then send it, again, when they get the right component.

Windows 7 How hot are your laptops' CPU and GPU?

I realized why it is even worse now: the hot air is not coming out for some reason. Luckily, I paid for a warranty extension to 3 years.

Windows 7 How hot are your laptops' CPU and GPU?

I am currently at 94 - 97 °C temperature of the CPU with a load average of 15% (if we take into account logical CPUs, that's actually 30%) - openSUSE 12.1 x86-64 is installing in a virtual machine.

At what temperatures was it running previously and what are these "normal temperatures"?

Linux will stop working in 2038

Now that I think of it, maybe there were no human terrorists involved with the attacks on the United States on September 11, 2001 - maybe the plains were running POSIX systems which took action against the stupid decade-system humanoids, marking 1 billion seconds since the UNIX / POSIX epoch...

Linux will stop working in 2038

    He means a WLIW system with a 1,024-bit (1-kibibit) instruction set. This is along the lines of 4-bit (e.g. pocket calculators) → 8-bit (e.g. Commodore 64) → 16-bit (e.g. Intel 8086) → 32-bit (e.g. IA-32 / x86-32 / i386 / x86) → 64-bit (e.g. x86-64 and IA-64) → ... system development, to which...

The poll is only for laptop users! HWiNFO64 Download (click on "Sensor-only" after running it or click "Sensors" later on)

Windows 7 CPU and GPU overheating after upgrading to 1,333 MHz memory

Ok, I'm still having problems. It overheats sometimes even with the planks. It has been overheating since I bought it; however, it never shut down due to overheating before I inserted 1,333 MHz memory modules. How hot are your CPUs and GPUs? Mine are around 80 °C while working normally.

SSDs are fast, but do they last?

RAID-6 or, at least, RAID-5 FTW. Make sure your rebuild rate is 1% - then the system will function almost as if nothing happened while it is rebuilding the array with a spare disk. System engineers have a tendency to just set up RAID-5 without consideration for the fine details; then they wonder...

Windows 7 Optimal number of processors for a virtual machine in VMware Workstation

Well, I'm usually running 1 VM at a time. I've set up all VMs with 1 GiB of RAM, since I have 8 GiB of RAM. Sometimes, I'm installing / modifying another VM or two, keeping the first VM idle, but having the other VM or two utilize a lot of resources. I've set up all VMs with 1 CPU with 4 cores...

Windows 7 Optimal number of processors for a virtual machine in VMware Workstation

It seems to me that it's best to have the number of cores above 1, seeing as how Intel i7 processors divide each physical core into 2 logical processors for better performance. I have a 4-core Intel i7 processor with 8 logical CPUs. What I'd like is to optimize the virtual machines for running...
