Windows Vista Why people have issues with Vista

I have installed Vista on home-built PCs without any problems. Zlich, nada, kosong, zero. And even on a Celeron D with 512mb of ram, there was no problem at all. Sometimes i wonder if it's more of a classic example of PEBKAC.

Windows 7 Ati 9.3 drivers released

Anyone knows if Catalyst 9.3 supports mobile Radeon cards? My notebook uses a Radeon 3470 x2 (which is essentially a 3200HD and a 3470HD in Htbrid Crosssfire) but the Catalyst 9.3 release notes makes no mention of any mobile drivers.

Windows 7 Windows Media Player - does anyone else use it?

THe point is that, strictly speaking from an end-user point of view, do most end-users know of any other formats besides MP3, AVI, DIXV, MIDI, WAV, MPEG and MP4? All my colleagues have not even heard of FLV in spite of the fact that it's the format used for youtube and myspace videos. And the...

Windows Vista People love Code name Mojave, which is really Vista

I did that for my PCs and everything worked except for the WLAN adaptors (Linksys WUSB54G v4 and D-LINK DWA 110). After popping in the driver CDs for both adaptors, Vista was up and running like never before. Graphic support for the Intel GMA 950 was provided out of the box, my VIA P4M80 fell...

Windows 7 External esata HDD not recognized

Of course you can hear it working: juice is being sent to the HDD, thus it starts up and spins. THe thing now is whether Windows 7 has eSATA support or it has to be turned on manually somewhere. On an unrelated note, my USB HDD also takes a longer time to initialize: quite a few times i have...

    Windows 7 Windows 7 Build 7061

Is there any mention of whether the SATA bug that was present in the 705x builds that essentially crippled a PC whose HDD was not connected to SATA0 Channel0 is fixed in 7061?

    Windows 7 Uninstall W7

I have that same motherboard in one of my older PCs and Windows VIsta works like a charm: the stock VESA graphics drivers which were bundled in the Vista kernel were able to display up to a resolution of 1600 x 1200 (albiet without Aero, of course) After i installed the XP graphics drivers...

Windows 7 Problem closing or resizing open windows

The only cause i can think of is that your installation of Windows did not go perfectly. Does re-installing Windows solve anything?

Windows 7 Windows Media Player - does anyone else use it?

I'd guess that it's probably due to licensing issues and corporate distrust, especially distrust against Microsoft. Remember how Microsoft wanted to include built-in PDF support in Office but Adobe cried foul and Microsoft had no choice but to put PDF support as an extra downloadable add-on to...

Windows 7 Windows Media Player - does anyone else use it?

I use WMP myself, and i don't see the need to ever install another media player as long as Windows bundles Media Player in it. It plays my mp3, wav and wma files perfectly, why should i download another player? The only thing i want is that Microsoft negotiate with codec vendors to add in...

Windows Vista Why Windows Vista failed (or so people say)

Hi, i'm new here, but allow me to give my thoughts on the whole Vista issue. Personally, i find that Vista is faster than XP in many aspects. I have Vista running on all 3 of my machines, as listed below: Rig 1: Intel Celeron D 2.4GHz DDR1 512MB SDRAM Integrated VIA P4M800 graphics Rig...
