Fixed!!!! the culprit was AVG's LinkScanner with Search-Shield for safe searching and Active Surf-Shield for safe surfing/browsing.
Wierd that its only effecting my desktop pc loaded with windows 7 and not when its loaded with Vista nor does it effect the window 7 laptop.
the local lan address to the d-link router is 10.1.1.1, which is what I am using.
I might have had a win though, seems to be working last night when I enabled compatabilty mode in IE8 when accessing 10.1.1.1
Will check again tonight to see if it still works.
I am having difficulties logging into my dsl-g604t router's web interface using windows 7.
The router works fine, and I am able to access the internet from both my desktop-ethernet and laptop-wireless (also running windows 7). If I try to connect to the router to enable port forwarding, etc...
