More Keyboard Here is the result of my checking further: 1. The Apple key appears to have the same function as the Windows key and the Option key on the Mac which is also marked Alt appears to have the same function as the Alt key on the PC. For example, Contol Option(Alt) Delete on the Mac...

Windows Vista Mac Boook Pro /OS X / Vista Ultimate...

Apple Keyboard I had not noticed a difference in the keyboards but now that you mention it, the special keys along the top of my PC keyboard for mail, search etc. do not appear on the Mac keyboard. Since I never use them I had not noticed. The Fkeys go up to F12 on my PC keyboard but go to F16...

Windows Vista Vista Incompatiblity with SNAP Server

My solution I personally solved the problem by eliminating every scintilla of security from the SNAP server so that no login is required. However, there is another solution posted under Windows Vista Forums Windows Vista Support. Look for the thread initiated by Erik Hamzy. The replies and...

Windows Vista Mac Boook Pro /OS X / Vista Ultimate...

I have a Mac Mini Intel running Tiger with XP in a separate partition. The process was straightforward with BootCamp. I believe Vista presents a more difficult process but has been achieved by someone who has posted on the net. At some point it is expected that Apple will upgrade BootCamp to...

Windows Vista Vista and Snap Server

I Love the simplicity of Ian D's approach BUT... Step 5 cannot be done because the option, "Local security Policy", does not appear in the list in my machine. Any ideas on what might cause that? Ray Z.

Windows Vista Radeon All-in-Wonder 7200 Family AGP Card

Radeon All-in-Wonder 7200 Family Drivers I am reposting this as I put it in the wrong place before. I was part of the Vista Beta program using Vista Ultimate and used the program for two months with no driver problems, i.e. no messages at startup that said the system...

Windows Vista IP Address Conflict with DHCP

DHCP Server Everything you say is true. The reason I had a problem at one time was probably because my router was in decay and later failed but I don't really know that for sure. There may have been some other problem as well. When I replaced my router the DHCP function worked as expected. One...

Windows Vista Vista and Snap Server

Logon to SNAP Server Several months ago I posted a similar problem regarding logging onto a SNAP 1100, which albeit old, still works well with all other computers and operating systems on the network. The problem I had was that when I typed in the logon which SNAP expected to see, Vista placed...

Windows Vista IP Address Conflict with DHCP

This is not a sophisticated fix but it will work. If you install an earlier Windows version and let it communicate with the DHCP server it will successfully assign an IP address to your computer. Then when you replace it or upgrade it with Vista the same IP address will be kept. cheers, Ray Z.

    Windows Vista Dual Boot Question

I installed on a separate drive simply for the insurance of isolating conflicts physically. If anything bad did happen, you would never be risking your existing XP installation The dual boot environment works the same either way. Ray Z.

Windows Vista Vista Incompatiblity with SNAP Server

SNAP Server requires a logon with no symbols such as / or \ included in the logon name. However, Vista places the name of your computer in front of your logon with a \ in between. For example, if your computer is named MYCOMPUTER and your logon to SNAP server is MYNAME when you attempt to logon...

Windows Vista Seeing Other Computers and Servers

I have two Compacs running XP, three Macs running OS10.4.8, a SNAP server running some old version of SNAP OS, and a XIMETA NDAS server. I have installed Vista on a second clean drive of one of the Compacs and that went well. I finally got my network HP printer to be recognized and installed...
