I keep hearing that SSD's don't need defragging. Also regular HD's are so fast now that they don't need constant defragging. Don't waste any money on defrag programs like I did. The windows defragger is good enough and so is Auslogics Disk Defrag Free (don't waste money on the Pro version).

The anti-virus can cause this. Although I don't copy huge files I use NOD32 and it can cause a slowdown of big files. If you know the file is safe then temporary disable your antivirus and then try to copy the file again.
I had one program a internet radio player forgot the name that looked terrible in Windows 7 64-bit. It is a 32-bit program so since I don't use it I got rid of it. All of my other 32-bit programs looks fine except for that one. I can't remember the name. Sorry.
The problem I have with notification icons is that they resize from small to big all the time. Why would you want to remove a notification icon. Sometimes you can go into the program settings to turn off the tray icon as I find that annoying.
