Windows 7 Windows 7 CPU Usage Always at 100%

To Linda Hi Linda, your problem may have something to do with the print spooler service. Here's a page that sounds like it describes your issue: How to Fix Spoolsv.exe high CPU utilisation problem - OCWorkbench Forum | C3 Fair - Computers, Communications & Consumer Electronics 2009 Fair | IT...

Windows 7 Windows 7 Fails to install, "Windows cannot install required files"

iso Hey tom.wall, I am assuming the your "download file" is a .ISO, which is a disc image file format. To burn that image to a CD (well, a DVD in this case, since the file is over 2 GB), you'll need a tool like ImgBurn: The Official ImgBurn Website You can also pay for programs like Nero, but...

Windows 7 Windows 7 CPU Usage Always at 100%

Hey all, just wanted to let you know that the problem ended up being with an audio controller. I went into device manager, and under the "System Devices" category there was an entry for "High Definition Audio Controller". The instant I disabled this, I had my machine running perfectly...

Windows 7 Windows 7 CPU Usage Always at 100%

Oh yeah, something is definitely up. I opened up process explorer, and it is showing 80% or more CPU usage going towards "hardware interrupts", listed under system idle processes. My XP install virtually always shows 0% here, and after reading around on some other forums, I think that surely...

Windows 7 Windows 7 CPU Usage Always at 100%

Hey everyone, just wanted to stop back in and let you know I tried installing the 32-bit version, and it was definitely not the problem. Same exact symptoms. This is sort of sucking, I wanted to try this baby out, and my specs should easily be handling it.

Windows 7 Windows 7 CPU Usage Always at 100%

The only software I installed was the Catalyst Control Center that came with my video card driver. It's just a graphic card management utility, and I didn't see any appreciable difference in performance or CPU usage before and after that install. Other than that, I just have a fresh Windows 7...

    Windows 7 Router issues.

I have no idea if this would make any difference (I don't use my wireless often), but might it be worthwhile to try installing DD-WRT/Tomato/etc on the Linksys router? I've noticed improved general network stability since loading custom firmware onto my router.

Windows Vista anyone else has this trouble on install???

Damn, yeah that is annoying. What other OS do you have installed on the newer machine? Also, I assume you correctly partitioned space on an internal drive for the Win7 install? I mean, if you did it once correctly on a different machine, you likely aren't missing any important details.

Windows Vista anyone else has this trouble on install???

Did you use the same install disc for each machine? I had an install error that turned out to be due to an incorrectly burned disc image, which led me down a fun trail of DVD Drive firmware updates and such before I got a good copy. I didn't get the exact same error message, and obviously if...

Windows 7 Windows 7 CPU Usage Always at 100%

Hi all, Recently installed the 64 bit Windows 7 beta, and my CPU usage is constantly at or near 100%, even with no external programs running. Just to give a quick run-down of my system, I have: -- AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Processor (2.2 GHz) -- 2GB DDR RAM -- 1GB Diamond Radeon 3650HD Video Card...

Windows 7 Windows 7 Fails to install, "Windows cannot install required files"

Yeah I actually tried using ImgBurn because of the issues I was having with Nero, but that seemed no better. I will say, however, that I was originally burning at 16x and got an error immediately; then I tried 8x, and got almost 50% complete before getting an error. Then I tried Nero, which I...

Windows 7 Windows 7 Fails to install, "Windows cannot install required files"

Hey everyone, I had this same issue when I tried to install Windows 7. I burned the same image again using Nero, but this time told it to verify the content after burning. It took quite a bit longer, but the verification was successful and I installed without a hitch on my second try. For...
