Windows 8 Trying to use Homegroups but only public libraries are shared.

Turned off Homegroups and went back to the user name/password method. That seems to work just fine. Found my Win8 media server that uses the "storage space" HDD combining feature insisted it was on a domain and would not switch from business security settings to home no matter how many times I...

Windows 8 Trying to use Homegroups but only public libraries are shared.

Other libraries show up but I get a "see administrator (that's me) error" when I try to access them. All passwords are turned off and sharing turned on. Directories flagged "share with Homegroup" behave the same way. All four computers (3 Win8 Pro and 1 Win7 Home) have the same workgroup name...

Windows 8 Having Windows 8 activation problem

My Win 8 install deactivated and reactivated on the next boot up. It's a laptop so no change in hardware was possible. Just pushed the activation date from October 27 to November 2. Thought I'd have to call Microsoft but it self corrected. Bug?

Windows 8 Win 8 $39.99 online install, 32 or 64 bit. Where do we get to select the version we want to install?

I've installed Win 8 on two older but similar laptops, one went 32 bit and the other 64 bit. Both had 2 gig of memory and I would have preferred 32 bit but I don't remember being given a choice. Did I miss something?

Windows 8 Trouble deleting "windows old" directory.

Thanks, another KISS moment. Found this link Windows 8: How to Safely Delete $WINDOWS.~BT and Windows.old Folders | Microsoft Project Server, SharePoint, Security and other cool things... during my search.

Windows 8 Trouble deleting "windows old" directory.

I keep getting a "need permission from Trusted installer" or "system' error. Who is this guy and where do I find him? Also have some Java style "file name too long for recycle bin errors". I'd like to reclaim this wasted hard drive space after a non-eventful Win 8 install. Thanks in advance.
