Windows 7 BSOD and Windows Shut Downs

I believe I am finished with all that Dell can do. We found no hardware issues. All of my drivers have been updated including the Creative Camera and we reinstalled the MyDell app with the latest version. That MyDell app before it quit working reported 105 bad sectors in my WD My Passport...

Windows 7 BSOD and Windows Shut Downs

As far as the memory test is concerned, I followed Dell's suggestion and rebooted, pressing F12 over and over until it went to a comprehensive testing page. I ran all the hardware and memory tests - it took almost 8 hours. Everything passed. I will let you know whatever I find out from Dell -...

Windows 7 BSOD and Windows Shut Downs

Another interesting point - CtClsFlt.sys (Creative Camera) is the Dell web cam app. Dell may be causing much of my trouble or it may be that my drivers are all out of date (as you said). I am passing this on to Dell and see what they say.

Windows 7 BSOD and Windows Shut Downs

Interesting. I do not recognize that Creative Camera but I do have a lot of photographic related applications so I will double check and either remove or update. I also think I will get rid of Audials Tunebite since I never use it anymore. I already uninstalled Bitdefender and am running MSE...

Windows 7 BSOD and Windows Shut Downs

Hello, I ran the sfc/scannow and it showed no errors or corruption noted. I re-ran the W7F tool and tried again to upload the zipped file. No luck still. I even turned off the firewall to make sure there was no interference from that. I attached a screenshot of the error message. If you...

Windows 7 BSOD and Windows Shut Downs

First of all, if this is not the right forum, please switch me to it. Over the last several months, I have had a number of Windows shut downs for no apparent reason (often right after I boot up in the morning although at other random times, too). Usually, I am not present when it happens -...

Windows 7 Erratic Random Mouse Behavior

Thanks for the response. I have tried most everything from contacting Dell & HP to updating drivers to adjusting everything I possibly can regarding mouse & touch pad. This is a fairly common problem which seems to be confined mostly to laptops of all makes and types. It also seems to be...

Windows 7 Erratic Random Mouse Behavior

Hello, This has been discussed before I'm sure (here and other forums) but I have continually been having trouble with the cursor jumping around erratically while typing (usually in a document or email - I use Office & Outlook 2007). While I noticed this problem with Vista, it seems to be more...

    Windows 7 Kaspersky AVP Error

Thanks. Running MSE now and so far, so good. Definitely a smaller footprint. Although I know this seems to covers virus, spyware, etc, amd I covered for most everything or should I get any additional spy or malware?

    Windows 7 Kaspersky AVP Error

I downloaded KAV Removal tool and (hopefully)completely uninstalled KIS (my subscription runs out in 60 days). What else would you recommend to complete my protection? I see my Windows Firewall is back on.

    Windows 7 Kaspersky AVP Error

I recently upgraded my system from Vista to Win 7 Ultimate (clean install). I updated my Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 to version 9.0.0.736 (latest) and everything was working fine until today when I started getting an avp.exe application error every time I restart the computer saying "the...

Windows 7 Firefox Works But Internet Explorer Is Broken

This is long after your initial posts and I am talking about the commercial release (Win 7 32 bit) but I have had a similar problem with IE 8.0. It was intolerably slow (40-45 sec to access any web site). I removed all toolbars and that helped for surfing after the initial opening of IE. The...
