    Windows 7 COD 4 DX9 installation required on top of DX11 ?

Thanks all, I appreciate the quick responses. loathe: Yes I've been reading about PB issues for a few days now. I still have an XP partition that I can boot into if needed. I just wanted to logically install COD4 and see if I could even play single-player on 64-bit. And yes I just tried it...

    Windows 7 COD 4 DX9 installation required on top of DX11 ?

OK, I'm running Win7 7201 64-bit. I installed COD4 1.7 last night and when asked about installing DX9 I selected "No" since my Win7 has DX11 installed. When I try and start either single or multi-player I get an error dialog that reads: "The program can't start because d3dx9_34.dll is...

    Windows 7 Positive Win7 7201 64-bit experience!

I was pretty hesitant about jumping onto Windows 7 since I was still running XP. But I couldn't resist the idea of using the next Windows free for a year so I downloaded and installed 7100. I am now up to 7201 and wanted to post what apps I am using successfully. Bear in mind I am using...

    Windows 7 NVIDIA: 181.71 vs. 185.85

Per other posts on this forum, 186.08 seems to have fixed the right-mouse click issue for most people. I have it installed myself under 64-bit and it's working fine for desktop and movies. I haven't tried any 3-d gaming yet - I only play COD4 and am reading about the various multi-player...

    Windows 7 7201 x64 in the wild...x86 coming soon.

Can I get a PM to link for the 64-bit and (if available) 32-bit versions of 7201 please ? Been running the 7100 RC and am very impressed with Win 7. I skipped VISTA completely so there is a lot new, but I like what I am seeing. I use my PC for general home stuff and for connecting via USB...

Windows 7 IE 8 Is Total Crap

I principally use Chrome. But I keep IE8 installed for compatibility reasons. No issues that I can tell with IE8. For me it actually feels a bit more responsive than IE7, but not as much so as Chrome.

Windows 7 How many times have you installed Windows 7?

Just the one time. I held off on the betas, but have the Build 7100 RC installed on one machine running 64-bit. So far I like it. The only big incompatibility I've found is Symantec Endpoint Protection in 64-bit is not configured to install the POP3 Mail protection by design, so I switched to...

Windows 7 Google Chrome bugs x32

I'm running Chrome 1.0.154.65 under W7 B7100 64-bit and it seems to work OK. Only problem I see is that I have it set as my default browser. When I click on a link in an email or other file, Chrome opens, but will not display anything. Shockwave 1.5.596 and Flash 10.0.22.87 are installed and...

Windows 7 Beware: Do Not Install

Hmmm... I've got MagicDisc 2.7.0.106 running fine under W7 Build 7100 64-bit. Works just like it did under XP and no apparent problems.
