download Gparted iso, burn it to disk and boot from that. its a standalone small os, just for partitioning and formatting. with GParted you should be able to format everything, just dont forget to backup your files previously ;)

i have the same problem since i resized my main partition, i dont recommend to do so, it took quite a time to fix it ;) (win7 does also have a problem with SMART capability, enabling it totally destroyed my first installation.) also, my os is not longer called Windows 7 , but Windows 7...

thanks, works fine!! another question: Virtual CloneDrive somehow didnt deinstall cleanly and left 4 virtal drives that are still shown in the explorer, but have no function any more. Is there a way to delete them?

What tool can i use to mount iso-files under win7? i tried out DaemonTools and Alcohol120% as well as VirtualCloneDrive, but none of them worked:( any suggestions:confused:

it seems that i have some other major issues. i tried to boot from dvd several times (felt like at least 1000times:p)and this are the results: 1. most frequent: just shows "Windows is loading files...", then nothing or blackscreen 2. also quite frequent: shows "Windows is loading files..."...

another thing i really appreciate is the possibility to seperately control the volume for every program. just click on the sound-icon in the taskbar corner and choose mixer! finally i can mute annoying flashgames while still listening to music via wmplayer:D

i just tried the safe mode as you suggested, with just monitor, usb-mouse over PS/2 adapter and keybord attached. a list of files that are loaded runs down the screen until it comes to ...\system32\DRIVERS\disk.sys , the pc hangs there for approx. 30 secs and then i get a plain blackscreen

What programm can i use to format and partition my harddisk. i tried a few but they say "cant execute action on this version of windows 64bit" or something similair. if somebody knows a programm that works under win7 (and is freeware :) ) please post a link!
