Windows 7 How would you rate Windows 7

Of course I can make that judgment. I have and I did. My preference for the older GUI in XP is the sole reason why I refuse to use Windows 7. While stability is important, it is a secondary concern to me. I can handle the occasional crash since I usually learn what caused the crash and can...

Windows 7 How would you rate Windows 7

Windows XP is the best For me there is no contest. Windows XP is the best operating system that Microsoft has ever written. Windows 7 is the WORST. I accept the fact that all Windows versions initially have been full of bugs but my current system running Windows XP is now ROCK SOLID. I may...

Windows XP Anyone still using XP? And why

Besides the lack of toolbars, I don't like the new Taskbar or Search options. I'm also still struggling to get my TV board to work. I've already spent at least 3-4 hours on it and, I’m looking at least at another hour downloading and installing codecs to get it running satisfactorily, if...

Windows 7 Docking toolbars in Windows 7

If you read my thread titled "Will you buy Window 7 without Toolbars?" you will find out that those of us who use toolbars are almost non-existant. I can't believe that people don't use this feature. :(

Windows 7 Compro VideoMate TV Tuner

I'll give it a try, thanks. I finally received a response from Compro regarding the VideoMate TV board. I am enclosing their reply but the meaning is clear. We are on our own for now. :( Dear customer, Thanks for your feedback. Sorry, Windows 7 is not supported currently. We appreciate...

Windows 7 Compro VideoMate TV Tuner

Warning! I got it worked with Chris-TV 5.30 Professional. I just updated drivers of my Compro Card with the technique mentioned above using Manually Picking Drivers. I've attached the screenshot for the Selection I made in drivers List. And the Capture Device name changed as per the...

Windows 7 Will you buy Window 7 without Toolbars?

OK! I lose. Nobody uses toolbars. My own brother who has been a programmer for 30 years, and whom I’ve lived with most of that time, loves my toolbars. However, he has yet to implement them after all that time. As for those who have mentioned that my desktop is cluttered. What...

Windows 7 Will you buy Window 7 without Toolbars?

I have both a 32 and 64 bit system so I appreciate getting both files. I tried the 32 bit in XP and it worked like a charm. I'll see if it works in Win7 but hopefully Win7 will be stable enough and not need it. Thanks for the help.:)

Windows 7 Compro VideoMate TV Tuner

This might help? The following technique may help installing a Compro TV tuner. This technique has given me sound, and I had picture for a slight moment just before the Auto Scan initiated. As of now however, I have sound, but no picture. One thing I have noticed, in the screen that sets...

Windows 7 Will you buy Window 7 without Toolbars?

I got tired of having to reposition everything after changing resolutions or computer crashes, or any of the other strange reasons windows liked to rearrange everything on my desktop. If 7RC is stable in that regard, I might be able to do as you say. At least changing resolutions seems to...

Windows 7 Will you buy Window 7 without Toolbars?

Will you buy Window 7 without Toolbars? Please don’t remain silent about the Toolbar issue. I for one will state right now, that I WILL NOT upgrade to Windows 7 if I don’t have all my toolbars. It won’t happen! Windows 7 combining of the Task...

Windows XP Anyone still using XP? And why

I'm still using XP and if Windows 7 does not bring back my Toolbars I see no reason to upgrade. That single change will be all it takes to keep me out of the market. After playing around with Windows 7 for over a week I see a lot that I like. Unfortunately, I also see a lot that I don't.

Windows 7 Compro VideoMate TV Tuner

Check Device Manager I have the same problem. On my 64 bit Windows 7 Version, when I check Device Manager I see VideoMate TV Capture is installed, but VideoMate TV Tuner is nowhere to be found. In order for my Compro VideoMate Ultra to run, I'm sure BOTH those lines need to be present. So...
