I would avoid CCleaner, because it nuked the registry of my 7048 build, had to do a format, don't trust that program yet. It deletes some very important files. For now, use the goold ol' Disk Cleanup.

Well I guess you should boot up into it, and remove the password. Not like anyone is going to steal your HDD right? Even if they did, cracking the Windows password wouldn't be too hard.

Try killing the sidebar process and then going to start menu, type sidebar, then add gadgets, see if that works.

You might have some background programs running in the back that are using resources, if windows detects this, it won't put your computer to sleep. Does the screensaver work at least?

So did the error persist in SafeMode? Worst comes to worst, all you have to do is to reinstall and using the upgrade option.

Firstly, you aren't running CCleaner are you, that thing nuked my Build, had to format. Also, Go to the Start menu, type in: "lusrmgr.msc" Completely. Then click on users->Right click your account-> Switch over to 'Member of' Tab. What do you see?

You can, but the system actually feels slower when you do that instead of shutdown and restart. Ten again, this isn't Unix. But what you could get is a programc called Ready Driver plus, Install it without making any modifications and It'll press F8 for you everytime.

You should be able to do this from withing the Graphics Driver Software. Either Nvidia Forceware, or ATI Catalyst, or God forbid Intel IGP.

Well the only way to do that, would be to press F8 every time before boot and selecting Disable Driver Signature enforcement, or something like that. It was the same with Vista, you had to do that in order to get Peer Guardian Working.

I think your right, they had the option in 7048, but I just did a fresh install of 7057 and its no longer there. Maybe because its getting close to RC.
