Windows 8 How can I change this BONKERS behaviour by Windows?

Kemical Thanks. No, it's as simple as clicking on something, anything that you DON'T want to see and then clicking on what you DO want to see. But WTF? Why the extras step? Why should I ever have to click on something that I DON'T want to see, just to see what I DO want to see? It's a small...

Windows 8 How can I change this BONKERS behaviour by Windows?

Apologies I genuinely misunderstood about the "NOY" thing. Yes as far as I can see, it is nothing to do with applications "closing" as such instead and, as discussed, it's all about what has focus and what is being minimised. My central point stands however, which is that if you have 2...

Windows 8 How can I change this BONKERS behaviour by Windows?

OK so how do I stop Windows from doing "NOY close" (whatever that is) on something that is already active?

Windows 8 How can I change this BONKERS behaviour by Windows?

I have probably explained it badly. In simple terms, ff you click on the same thing twice windows takes you somewhere different the SECOND time you click on an application. Yes exactly! Apparently, this is the way Windows has always worked. i.e. In your example if I keep clicking it takes...

Windows 8 How can I change this BONKERS behaviour by Windows?

Hello One long-standing feature of Windows really, REALLY p*sses me off. All I want it that when I click on an icon on the taskbar, I want to be taken to that application. Every time. With no exceptions. However, it seems that in Windows, the SECOND time you click on any application, it takes...

Windows 7 HELP! I have been infected by "WEB CAKE 3.0"

Btw, before running (/re-running) the above scans that you list, what do I need to turn off? e.g. On my other (WinXP) computer I am currently running "BitDefender Internet Security", which seems to do about a million different things at once...

Windows 7 HELP! I have been infected by "WEB CAKE 3.0"

OK I have now scanned one of the the external 1GB HDs wit BitDefender. It took about 2 days to run, and if found about 500 threats - mostly in archived Outlook PST files. So I have simply deleted all my .PST archives. Any other suggestions about what I should scan with?

Windows 7 HELP! I have been infected by "WEB CAKE 3.0"

Now you need to scan you external drive.... A) I'd rather make completely sure my Win7 and WinXP devices are clean first. B) With what utilities should I be scanning it and in what order? e.g. With my newly installed antivirus software BitDefends? (trial version)

Windows 7 HELP! I have been infected by "WEB CAKE 3.0"

    > When the screen goes blank does CTRL+ALT+DEL bring up the option to run Task Manager? No > Do you have a recovery disk? I dont think so, although I did do a backup on to my external hard drive. Meanwhile I persisted WITHOUT using safe mode, and I think everything is good. SpyHunter 4 is no...

Windows 7 HELP! I have been infected by "WEB CAKE 3.0"

I have a problem. If I run in safe mode, I think that the screen saver kicks in - at least the screen goes blank - and then it stays blank. Perhaps the PC is over heating. Perhaps it's a virus. HELP!
